Head Coach John
John Schrup is the Head Coach of the Varsity Evolution Team.
John guided his team to back-to-back championships in both the West Coast Championship in Los Angeles and the Las Vegas National tournament in the summer of 2022. John served as the Head Coach for the Design Tech High School boys’ Varsity team. Over the 3 years as Head of the program, John guided his team to the school’s first-ever CCS Appearance and Semi-Finalist in the PSAL Conference Tournament.
Before taking over the Design Tech Program, John served as the Associate Head Coach for the Foothill College Men’s basketball team, where he was in charge of recruiting and player development.
John began his coaching career at San Mateo High School, where he started off as the JV Head Coach who finished 2nd in the league and eventually worked his way up to the Varsity Boys team, where he helped lead the team to back-to-back CCS quarterfinals appearances which hadn’t been done since John was a player at San Mateo in 2012.
John played his collegiate basketball at Notre Dame de Namur University while receiving his undergraduate degree. In High School, John was an All-League Award winner and led his team to a League Title and CCS quarterfinals appearance.

Hobbies
When I’m not coaching or playing basketball, I love spending time with my wife and son (Giannis) or hitting the links for a round of golf! My second passion in life is Real Estate, where I help people find their dream homes!
